A collection of Non-linear Kidd & Killer vignettes using Pocket Jack's KiKi-tober Prompt list - imagining their pre-canon backstory, based on the crumbs given in the SBS. Story ranges from them as small children all the way to the aftermath of Wano This is a story that ranges in it's themes and ratings from chapter to chapter but is VERY MUCH AN ADULT STORY.

Killer slumbered on, clearly exhausted. Kidd crawled into bed behind him, shushing the sleepy mumble voiced by Killer. He reached around the man, fingers slotting in to Killer's on his left hand, pulling it away from where he'd shoved it into his own face. Killer whined a disagreement, but calmed when Kidd pressed his forehead into the exposed crook of his neck, pillowing his head up on his left stump. Their entwined hand was tucked up next to Killer's right, and Kidd sighed into Killer's shoulder, wedging his knee between Killer's until he shifted finally and Kidd slid his leg in, pulling his partner back into him. Kidd could feel the exact moment Killer's subconscious caught up to it being him and all the tension in Killer eased out, the man going slack and boneless in his embrace. His breathing deepened not too long after and Killer slid into dreamland. - Day 10 : Grief * ‡ ‖

I was far too far into the month before I remembered that the South Blue is in the Southern hemisphere and thus seasons would be the opposite of my own - living in the North. I realize this would have been an excellent time to explore that but I was so far into this with some parts planned very specifically to be in January & February that it was too late to adjust course, so i just kept rolling with it instead. the down side of a daily challenge. I will try to be better in remembering this in future stories.

my headcanon while writing this as originally included on October 29th:

• Kidd is asexual, but someone who is still down to fuck. He likes sex well enough. It feels good, and he doesn't really have any hang ups on it. It's just a thing he does some times, nothing more nothing less. It's also not something he actively seeks out. If he never had sex again, he probably wouldn't even notice unless someone else brought it up.


• Killer is more complicated. If he identifies himself as anything, he'd probably say bisexual, but reality is more asexual with capital-T Trauma. Killer is not someone who does well alone, and it's been implied throughout this piece that he has absolutely slept with people for both companionship and favors alike, starting at a very, VERY young age. For him, sex is transactional. It's not about any sexual attraction, but more something he thinks he needs to do so people will love him. Unfortunately, at this point in his life - he's never had a sexual partner who respected him back.
  
  • Not even Victoria. If you look at the subtext it was still not a equal partnership and I am not trying to villainize her, but Killer let her use him too. I think she was just too young to see that during the years they were messing around.
  
  
  • The most disheartening part is he has had people who cared about him that he didn't have to fuck. Maybe not many peers, but certainly those who would have seen him as their family if he would have let them. But because of this twisted up way he has come to see sex & love, he really didn't understand that. It also doesn't help that they have all died on him.
  
  
  • and then there's Kidd - who he loves and adores and has no idea what to do with that information. He doesn't know what healthy boundaries are and he's so afraid that he's going to mess it up that he leaves first.
  
  Killer is self aware enough to know his relationship with sex is complicated, but not enough to understand why people still leave even when he puts out - only that they all do. This just feeds back into his self-worth issues and has him further convinced that he is the problem, not the sex.
