post Chapter 1079 and Episode 1112.
His crew is gone. His ship, his home, is gone. Kidd is lost at sea, set adrift both literally and figuratively. At least he's not alone.

It's nothing more than a sandbar, a minefield for the unprepared passerby. And while its dry land, its lonely and desolate and a sure sign they've drifted far off course with little hope for a rescue.
The waves push them enough to shore Kidd risks the few wet steps to the sun-baked sand. The sea pulls at his bare feet, pulls at what little strength he has saved up, but Kidd throws his weight into his momentum and stumbles free, dragging his raft up out of the water with him.
The child that haunted him the last two days is gone now, and Killer remained as still as death under his coat canopy. Kidd is alone - standing on the shore of a strip of land he can step across at high tide. A shadow clings to the northern end of the sand, so that's where Kidd will go.
The dry sand is too loose to walk in without wasting too much effort, so Kidd will risk the surf to walk in the sea soaked sand that held firm under his weight. He rigs the raft to be drug behind him, rope fastened across his chest, frayed edged already rubbing painfully.
It would be easier to leave Killer resting on the raft, but the passing idle thought of the rope pulling free - the raft slipping back out to sea on it own, with Killer alone on board. Kidd would not be able to chase after it, would be left alone to bear witness...
No - Kidd will keep his family at his side, whatever the consequences. He's only got himself to blame that the rest of them have already been lost at sea. He wont loose Killer too. Once he picks Killer up - there is no more adjusting he can make. Sure that the raft rope is secure, that the knots will hold - Kidd hauls Killer's limp body up onto his shoulder with his one arm.
With Killer resting against Kidd's neck, his weight balanced between Kidd's hip and his remaining arm - Kidd makes his way north.
He stumbled, the rope to his raft pulling taught as the waves beach it once again. The tide had hit it's lowest point and it was crawling back up the beach again, forcing him steadily higher on the sand. A few birds had swooped by to investigate him, and he'd been eyeing them back, considering if trying to catch one to eat will be worth the effort.
Cumulus clouds started to hazily form ahead of his trodding, and Kidd had been focusing on them for the last few hours. He can't stop to think about how tired he is, how heavy Killer is, how heavy the sun feels beating down on him. He just needs to keep moving forward.
The rope pulled again. He staggers to a stop.
He knows he needs to keep going, but he can't seem to do it just yet, stuck in place.
"Let me go with you just a little further."
She's the worst he'd seen her yet, flickering and glitching in and out of focus. But the little girl has the rope now, treading the surf, the waves washing harmlessly off her pink wellies. She kept the raft from taking in the sand, looking back at him just the once, her skull face little more then sockets and teeth by now.
"Come on Captain, Just a little more."
