there aren't many celestials around these days - the war treated neither of the heriditary enimies kindly, and when the triest where signed in the aftermath of a sound defeat for the both of them by the cannon fodder caught in the middle, the absoultism of the holy-than-thou bastards bit them in the ass, and they where essentially kicked off the planet as a speicies. the occult wgere too, to be fair, but they'd ranged in a lot more loopholes to come back. thyere where sllowed to work and trade - but hwere not allowed to own any land bigger than a standard human house, and had very strick measure in place if htye wanted to own a buisness. for the msot part, there where day loabours or employed under trasportation of goods. htere where heavy rules in place to make sure they could gain ay kind of power or follerw base. both enimes where well known to get in hte heads of humans and trick them into doing there durity work, so there where heavily painted wihtsusipision.

nd... rightly so. stll, as much as the occult where equal as juity as the etherials, the occults also got suckerpunched by their own powers just as often as the humans did, pointing them in a much more sympathetic light than the etherials. and - the occult could at least [although it was delatable if sincer or lipserivce] admit to bing wrong when calle dout.

and so - crwly was contneti in his new life as a refugee of sorts. he hadn't done well during the war - and had gotten a little to investice in the humans around him. so when things ended, he had a fair few willing to vouch of him. the flip side, is those where not typically the humans you would want to give you the 'a-okay' as shadwell was a man who aliniated anyone he spoke too, with the strange exception of crolwey himself, the you private pulisper who'd serve dunder in in the way, and the lovely mme tracy... who seemed to find shadwell a shameless flirt. crowley didn't get it - and at this point, he wasn't sure he wanted too.

so, imagine his suprise when he found out he wasn't the only heritiraty enime shadwell had vouched for - although the other wone was not spoken as as kindly asc rowley was. which... was actually endering, if corlwey wasn't a fearsome occultish being of demonic dark power.

mme tracy was the one to introduce them, shadwell and pulisper reading a room upstairs for the newcoming until after his probation hearing. apperatly, he'd been a prisoner of war of sorts until the fighting had stopped, and to hear mme tracy tell it - his troops had simply leaft without him when the abandon the planet rder had been issued.

he was good as hiding as one of the humans - most of the etherial (and the occult to be fair) where aweful at it. couldn't get the faces right, and the skin always looked off. and if somehow that passed, the smell wasuusally a dead giveaway. this one ha dthat same issue, but - like crolwey, they seemed to know about it, and had tried to mask it. a sharp, very human coloune clung to him. it was probbaly softer to the human ences, but crolwey could still smell the shard burn of oozon under it, and he oculdn't help the discuted look crossing his face.

"none of that now, dear," Mme tracy tutted when she saw him, motioning him to join them. he refrained, lurking by the exit. he'd jsut stopped buy to see if shadwell had any work that he'd wanted help with. not to make nice with Mme tracy's newest project.

the celectial wasn't much taller than her, if he stood up straight, he might be even with corlwey, but it was hard to tell... not that corlwey stood up straight eihter, but at least he wasn't hunkered in on himself in an effort to look smaller and non threathening. it make his skin crawl and scale over. he tried to keep the sensatin under his slleves, but he must of failed, becuase mme tracy was looking at his neck now.

"Mr Crowely, this is Mr Fell, he's going to be renting one of hte rooms upstairs!"

She tried to sound bright, hand s up and gestuing, trying to get cowley to close the gap; Mr. Fell had begun to rais his hand like he meant to offer it in a handshake, but read the room and stopped befor either one could be made to look a fool. Mme Tracy tutted again., "Mr. Fell, this is Mr Crowley. he's an old friend of Mr Shadwell, the two often work together."

:A pluasure," Fell murmered, soft and uncertain. he was no longer looking directly at crolwey, which helped, now focused at some spot on the ground between them all. corlwey felt his own scales receading.

"Now, I'm just about to put some tea on; Mr cowrley, would you be joining us this afternoon?"

"No, i just came by to talk to segant shadwell, but i guess i missed him."

"He and that young man of his are doing some work up in tadfield. well, he's doing some work - i thing young pulisper has made a friend up there and is likely to sneak off first chance he has."

Crowley culdn't help the soft msile at that- Mme tracy made it easy to forget himself. Still, the fact that there was a celstail here, with his humans, set his teeth on edge and he needed to leave. there where maybe a dozen of them total on the whole planet - and of course, one had to go and set up shop with his group. blasted celcestail.

well, he'd lurk around. should be too hard to trip it up with whatever game it was playing, get it locked back up to ehere ever they'd been hidiing him. probabtion. ha! what a lark
