Azirpahle won't let him inside. "I can't be expected to chase bird from the roof," he suggested, and crawly took the peace offeing frow what it was, and pulled up his most impressivr mircle yet, becoming niether man no snake, and instead a dark corvid perching on the wood. the humans eyed his sudden apperance with some suspision, but crawly made no effort to try and get inside, nad stayed well out of human reach.
he also made sure - out in the open like the were - that he stayed far neough form the angel that nobody would expect him to do osmehing about a stowaway bird. he smothered every aspet of his demonic nature as best as he was able - which was much harder than he would excpeted.... he was jsut itching to cuase some mayhem and he was supprised how bacd *not* doing that was setting him on edge.
still, it was better than the endgelss flying. the corpses ahd finally stopped floauting, and the sea had clalmed. other birds - who'd been resting on said corpses and debris, where starting to gather on the ark as well, helping him hid in plain sight.
so he was there when the angels did come - Micheal and Gabreil both, stepping down in the dark of night, long after the humans had drifted of to dream land.
they didn't notice him at all, and wasn'tt at a bragging right for any demon! two archangels, comeplely oblivious. and since there was two, not a soul could balmine crawly for lying low and taking no offesive action. the two archangels seemed to be looking for something, searching the ship with azirpahle so paniced in the wake the air was thick with terror. it wasn't right - angels cuases other angels to raise such a miasma.
they where too far away for even craly to hear - almos meaning he was too far away from them to smell him out - but whatever they where ooking or, it seemed they came up empty handed. there was a breif moment of palipample relief before anxirty sent back in, and then here were off.
suprising him though, once the archangels where gone, the prinipality shifted into a dove, and joinged him int he masses. the other birds paid him no mind,a nd even crawly lost trake of him, until a very much not bird voise murmered next to him. "the waters have broken; im to guide Noah to land, and then I'm being recalled for a time."
"there's land?" the other birds all seemed to quiet - all perking up at htis information.
Azirpahle nodded his beak. "Gabreil wans't happy witht he birds, but i convinced him to let me use them to guide Noah to this land the spoke of. somewhere to the east, not sure how far. in the morning I"m going to have him reliease them one by one. It'll give you a cover for leaving, and hopefully you can get there safetly. there's bound to be another inspection during deboarding, and tey'll be much more though."
"What are tey looking for?"
if a bird could look sad.... "the children. they want to be sure none of them survived to pass on etheral traits. the younger ones still look human enough they could pass for a few years. Micheal wants to be sure so the Almighty doesn't find a reason for other measures."
"I didn't tell my side," crawly offered suddenly, unsure why, but feeling it was important. the dove looked at him, head cocked. "about... angels creating things on their own"
Azirpahle nodded. "not more much longer, i'm afaind. some kind of loophole, but it's goign to be closed. i excpect that's why we're being recalled."
"But.. but you're not in trouble, are you? you didn't have anything to do with it"
"Not sure it will matter in the end. we where all demoted after eden; i'm just gratefull nothignw as down about the sword. it was already hard enough being one of the four from the garde walls, if everyone had been puniched further..." he trailed off, looking ill in the face for a dove.
"anyway." he cleared his thought with a thrill, "in the morning..."
"I'll be at the frount of hte pack when noah shows up. keep away just so no one can try and blame you for not spotting me. and once i get to land, i'll make trackes; be long gone befor ehte humans show up."
