There's something (soft) in watching Aziraphale watch the drama of a play unfold before him.
he known most of hem by now, he know how these story ends, but every time, new faces, new voices, new interpretations.
Crowley loved sprawling out in his extravagant box seats, watching the lights dim, and the angel next to him lean forward, edge of his seat. Aziraphale would mouth along to the lines, beaming in delight when an actor delivered it in a new way, bit his lip and watch in rapt attention when the plot reached its climax.
personally, Crowley didn't care much for the doom and gloom plays; life was hard enough, why glorify it on a stage. but Aziraphale didn't see it that way - must be an angel thing.
but where the rest of the host left it like that, Aziraphale saw more to it. saw how they grieved as a community, toiled though their differences.
Rose above their pain.
Crowley slouched back, do far down to see the actors, but a good view of the angel int he dark booth next to him. they players might be dying on stage, but the angel never looks more alive. his face open as he (???)
-allowed the emotion before him to resonate. we don't die, but humans do.
