I think kaido would have succeeded in breaking kidd if he'd done so and it would have destroyed killer. Kidd taking a knee to anyone because of her would be worse that anything kaido or his people did to her

maybe killer is in udon instead?No, heat or wire. They spill to luffy that killer is being held hostage (they all are technically but killer is the one kaido abuses to keep kidd in line)- law pieces together kidd isn't really into the alliance when he wont take the bait to any of law's barbs. There's no emotion in Kidd's brutality (there's no emotion to kidd at all)
- killer doesn't have to eat the SMILE fruit this time around. Yay?
- although it could still happen. Orachi can still trick killer into eating it maybe instead of saying it can save kidd, saying it might allow killer to stay with kidd. Dunno....
- once kaido is assured kidd will do as told, he initially gives killer to orachi still. However orachi is a disgusting creep and it doesn't take long before he's abusing her too
- kidd lashes out- kaido reminds him that kidd swore loyalty to kaido and kidd belongs to kaido now. There are no conditions, and kidd gets to make no demands
- kidd tells him that if they touch one more hair on any of his crew the deal is off
- kaido' people (maybe king?), again states kidd doesn't get to make demands. Maybe queen orders killer to be brought in to remind kidd of his place
- kidd promises that if they try to hurt killer in front of him again he will kill her himself (and the rest of his people) so they cannot be harmed anymore to force Kidd's hand.
- king and kaido discuss Kidd's insubordination. Kidd must still be punished for his attitude/back talk but they both see kidd is dead serious on his threat to kill his own crew to free them from more abuse and tread more carefully
- in possibly one of the kindest acts kaido has done since arriving in wano, he agreeds killer will not be returned to orachi. Instead he informs kidd killer will be gifted to kaidos son, and no - kidd cannot see her first. He did just threaten to kill her after all.
- So kidd remains under kaido's thumb but now pieces are in place to get his crew free and he can turn on kaido and big mom during the raid.
- Show kaido that "loyalty" founded in fear and blackmail isn't loyalty at all.
And neither law or luffy would think or even comment on him being subordinate to a yonko after understanding why - they both too would go to extremes for crew and agree with his choice to take a knee to keep the alive. Luffy told his crew to run and flee in sabody after all and law just about abandoned his to keep them safe from his own suicide mission

Tbh, i still think to find cure from SMILE Kid will kneel before any doc he thinks can help (even Law), so him "submitting" to Kaido
- Kid just staring dead eyed into Law and doesn't even attack him 'cause he's tired, scared and thinks of ways to kill/free his crew
- Maybe, Kaido threatened Kid that he will make Kilkil eat SMILE if he doesn't behave?
- Yamato would absolutely help KiKi to meet in secret. Maybe even "buys" their crewmates from pleasure houses to have harem

- maybe law can swap them somewhere away from kaidos spies to get the full story out of kidd. Heart pirates can then be on the lookout for KP and start freeing them when they can

- Kid keeps living 'cause he promised Killer to stay alive

- Kidd refuses to die and leave killer alone in this mess. He has to stay alive until she's free (even if its freedom via death)
- law gets recognised by kidd on the streets immediately (because its a terrible disguise) and the two start fighting
- law keeps asking kidd wtf is wrong with him, aligning with a yonko, yadda yadda ya but kidd doesn't bitch back at him
- law changes tactics and asks him where the hell killer is ( maybe calls her his baby-sitter or something )
- that gets a reaction and kidd gets legit angry - tells law not to call her that/ dont talk about her like that
- its the clue law needs that something else is going in and he moves the fight somewhere private to interrogate kidd better
- at this point, with killer as some plaything to kaido's son (kidd dun know yamato is cool. In his head its orachi but now kaido size) kidd has no pride left.
- This whole chapter will be of the aspects of kidd law will not use against him in their future spats
- kidd keeps his head down and follows kaidos orders, and the HP (and eventually SP) will free any KP they find.
- kidd can be thier mole, sneaking updates on things he over hears
- kidd and drake are both highly suspicious that there's something strange going on with the other one but neither figure it out until the raid (They can also have a .... tentative alliance going on. Dont rat me out i dont rat you out - hey there's a blind spit in kaidos security in the supply closet on the second floor if you need to make a phonedenden call)
- just this once, no SMILEs. Or at least not yet. We can still torture her to the brink of insanity while making kidd watch without the fruit
- i wanna still have yamato confined to onigashimas island so locals would be kiados subordinates
- with size difference maybe they think they're being haunted by the ghost of yamatos lost childhood or something XD
- oh!!! If kidd doesn't know killer is already on onigashimas and they meet during the raid!
- he's still trying to keep up appearances that he's with kaido because no one could find her
- luffy shows up with yama and kilkil well into the shitshow and they get thier reunion ~
- luffy with his little shishishi laugh at kidd being all soft and tender (since we dont get the 'you look really strong' compliment at the raid start) kidd wants to be upset but luffy is honestly happy for then both and says so.
